The Fringe is a video work from the cycle Dress of the Invisible Body, inspired by a poem by the Sufi poet Rumi. Filmed in a forest setting, it depicts a dress hanging from a tree canopy which, in contact with wind, nature, and the elements of nature, transforms into a symbol of spiritual presence, inner movement, and the invisible dimension of the body.
The work explores the relationship between art and everyday life — the profane and the sacred, nature and the human being — as well as clothing / habitus understood as an archetypal vessel of identity, soul, and transformation.
