In the whirlpool of waves and time, temporal and spatial boundaries intertwine: a great city and a small island village, imagination and reality. Vivid characters full of apparent opposites come together, ultimately without obstacles, in a fairy-tale denouement and epilogue — into an existence beyond time.
Inspired by and thematically devoted to the lives and suffering of the washerwomen (lavandijere) from the village of Preko on the island of Ugljan, this contemporary fairy tale is intended for readers and viewers of all generations (both great and small, old and young — as they would say in Preko!), because through its richly illustrated and vividly described events and interpretations it grows into an epic of universal human values.
